Passion, friendship and creativity are just as important to your wellness as fitness and healthcare – and at The Mayflower, we’re continually expanding our repertoire of classes, programs, entertainment, and social events to create an exciting and inviting community where people love to live.
Just ask Megan Basile, who joined The Mayflower as Lifestyles Director earlier this year. “We’re always trying to bring something new to the table,” she says. “Musical performances, hands-on art classes, travelling out into nature or to historical landmarks, holiday celebrations – everything we do, we ask how we can do better.”
Whether you’re listening to a live poetry reading or debating current events at our resident-led Think Tank, The Mayflower is the perfect place to expand your horizons – and this fall, we’ll be rolling out “Mayflower University,” a series of educational talks on topics ranging from neuropsychology to the history of Rodgers & Hammerstein.
Thanks to longstanding partnerships with local organizations like the Bach Festival Society, Opera Orlando, and the Orlando Museum of Art – just to name a few – our residents don’t have to go far to enjoy musicians, guest speakers and other exclusive performances and lectures right on campus.
“Our goal is to be a bridge,” says Megan. “Not only to provide more activities on campus, but to connect our close-knit community with the incredible variety of art, culture and creativity you can find in Winter Park.”
But the revitalization of The Mayflower’s programming doesn’t end there. At our Fitness Center, our ever-evolving spectrum of classes makes it fun and social to get moving. Alongside favorites like water aerobics and yoga, residents can also pursue new offerings, from weekly ballroom dance lessons launched this summer to an Arabic dance class coming in fall.
And following the successful debut of our new Cru Quarters restaurant – complete with brick-oven-fired pizza, beer on tap, and a selection of 100 wine labels – our team of chefs is stepping up to offer even more insight into the culinary experience. Residents can make their own pizza or pasta from scratch at hands-on chef demonstrations or attend a sommelier-led wine experience to learn how wine pairings complement and enhance an exceptional meal.
But even with so many new opportunities on the horizon, our programs and activities are just one part of what makes life at The Mayflower unique. The real difference, Megan says, is the people.
“From the moment you move in, you’re meeting neighbors, making friends, and becoming part of a wider community – and from then on, you’ll always have that sense of connection,” she says. “There’s an engaging social atmosphere you can’t find anywhere else.”
If you’re ready to indulge in the best years of your life, The Mayflower at Winter Park is ready to welcome you home … with resort-style amenities, social camaraderie and luxury apartment residences. And now is the time to get on board!
