The Mayflower is located in charming Winter Park, Florida, the home of Rollins College and the nationally acclaimed Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival. Considered one of the nation’s most desirable addresses, the city is a treasure trove of history, culture, fine dining, shopping, and natural beauty that attracts visitors from around the world. Winter Park is also home to three fine arts museums, including the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art, which houses the world’s most comprehensive collection of works by Louis Comfort Tiffany.
Calling Winter Park home means access to a shopper’s paradise, especially the shopper’s district on Park Avenue. Shops on Park showcases more than 20,000 square feet of indoor retail space, while a short distance away is Winter Park Village — an outdoor shopping mecca. Both are teeming with world-renown brand names and a delightful array of restaurant options for all cuisine preferences. Favorite dining options among locals include Prato, Armando’s, blu on the avenue, Chez Vincent, and Hamilton’s Kitchen.
Winter Park is committed to preserving the rich arts and culture environment found uniquely interwoven throughout the vibrant and eclectic city. From stunning museums and art galleries to local theaters and music venues full of talent, there is always something fun to do. And The Mayflower makes it easy for its residents to stay engaged and participate in all that this dynamic city has to offer.
Intellectual. Innovative. Interactive. Intergenerational. That’s the kind of continuing education residents enjoy through The Mayflower’s unique relationship with Rollins College. In fact, the college’s Center for Lifelong Learning began as a pilot program with The Mayflower, which was honored by the International Council on Active Aging with its prestigious ICAA Innovators Award.
Today, Mayflower residents participate in a variety of customized courses that feature hands-on learning taught by Rollins faculty and staff. Subjects include art, theater, physics, astronomy, writing, history, social media, and environmental sciences, among others. Classes are taught at The Mayflower, as well as on the Rollins campus located just three miles away — transportation is provided.
This lifelong learning collaboration complements a long, connected history between the college and The Mayflower. In addition to sharing common ancestry (both were founded by the First Congregational Church of Winter Park), Rollins has been providing speakers and programs to The Mayflower for years.
