For Dr. Marty and Joyce Zeluck, a move to The Mayflower seemed “way down the road” — even though they knew the community well through friends who lived there.

“We always knew that The Mayflower was the premier community in the area, but we weren’t ready just yet,” Joyce recalls. “Then we talked with our friends about Bristol Landing and looked at the floor plans. All of a sudden, we realized, ‘Oh, goodness! We don’t have to downsize!’ The apartment is spacious enough that we can move intact. That made it so simple and seamless.”

The Mayflower’s brand-new expansion will offer all the luxury services and amenities our community is known for … and then some. From spacious 2- and 3-bedroom Waterside Residences to a stunning Club House and Bistro (featuring a theatre room, billiards, al fresco dining and a lounge area and bar!), Bristol Landing is designed for best-in-class living.

Construction is already well underway for the anchor of the new neighborhood: a 84,842-square-foot, state-of-the-art Health Center, which will offer a full continuum of care, including skilled nursing, memory support and rehabilitation services.

The Zelucks say it’s a comfort for them, and their daughter, to know they’ll be ready for whatever the future has in store.

“We don’t have any health issues so far, but we’ve always been proactive — and making this decision before it becomes an emergency is a good thing,” says Dr. Zeluck, a retired obstetrician and gynecologist who practiced in Philadelphia. “You can’t predict the forces of nature, but you can plan ahead as much as possible and be proactive about your health.”

Putting that philosophy into action, the Zelucks say fitness is a big part of their everyday routine — and they look forward to taking advantage of The Mayflower’s Fitness Center, walking trails and heated pool. In their words: “As you get older, it’s even more important to push your limits.”

Avid readers, film lovers, and bridge players, the Zelucks believe intellectual challenges are key to staying sharp — one of the reasons they’re attracted to bridge in particular. Keeping up a busy social circle is also a vital part of the equation, adds Joyce.

“We’re looking forward to that aspect of the community,” she says. “We already have plenty of friends at The Mayflower, and we expect to make more when we move to Bristol Landing. It’s so exciting to be a part of something new!”
